Problem-based learning

 

Problem-based learning (PBL) is any learning environment in which the problem drives the learning. PBL is typically managed with small groups of learners ,accompanied by a faculty tutor.

 

From 1st to 15th block courses, tutors will provide students a carefully selected and designed clinical caserelated to each block in the PBL course.

In PBL course process, studentspretend they are physicians.

Students discuss the facts, hypothesis, andconnections between facts and hypothesis of the clinical case.

Then, students list what they need to know and learning issues necessary to solvethis case. In PBL, the faculty tutor's role is to guide the learning process rather than provide knowledge.

 

PBL provide students with opportunities to:

1.examine what you know and find out what you don't know.

2.discover what you need to learn.

3.integrate what you learn in basic.

4.science to the clinical case.

5.develop your teamwork ability.

6.improve your communications skills.
